FRP bolts are generally composed of glass fiber and resin, of which glass fibers generally account for more than 60% of the total weight of the rod body, so the main performance of FRP bolts is mainly determined by glass fibers.
The same goes for Canada's "TransCanada Highway", a system of highways that runs through 10 Canadian provinces. Thousands of passengers rely on this highway system to travel. Like many highways, TransCanada also has many reinforced concrete bridges connecting the various highways. However, after prolonged exposure to the sun and rain, the steel structure is corroded, and the bridge will be left with serious durability problems, resulting in structural degradation and expensive repair costs.
Glass fiber reinforced plastic bar is used for efficient construction, because it is lighter, cheaper and stronger than steel. It also doesn’t corrode, and more durable. GFRP rebar is supplied in rods of 3 and 6 meters, as well as in coils of 50 and 100 meters in length.
