Anti-Collision Device Installation Completed for Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge
On August 10, the anti-collision devices on the No. 3, No. 4, and No. 5 piers of the Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge were successfully installed and put into use. This marks the completion of the project of adding anti-collision devices to the eight piers of the bridge. The project has received high attention and praise from leaders at all levels and all walks of life. Many media outlets reported on this . We even appeared on CCTV. This is a huge affirmation for us.
The Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge is China’s first self-designed and built double-deck highway-railway bridge, and one of the longest double-deck highway-railway bridges in the world. It is not only a landmark of Nanjing, but also a symbol of China’s industrial and transportation development. However, with the development of Yangtze River shipping, the ships sailing on the river are becoming larger and larger, and the risk of the Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge piers being hit by ships is also increasing. In order to improve the anti-collision ability of the bridge, relevant departments decided to add anti-collision devices to the eight piers of the Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge in two years starting from 2022, to improve the safety performance of the bridge.
In this major project, Jiangsu Chemlead New Material plays a key role. We are the supplier and installer of the pier anti-collision devices for the No. 3 and No. 4 piers of the Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge. According to the characteristics and shipping conditions of the Yangtze River water area, the pier anti-collision devices installed this time adopt a floating steel-covered composite material, which can float up and down according to the water level. The anti-collision device can effectively absorb, disperse or transfer the energy of ship collision, and avoid accidents such as capsizing and sinking after the ship is hit. The anti-collision device not only has good impact resistance performance, but also has corrosion resistance, aging resistance, wear resistance and other advantages, which can adapt to complex and variable hydrological and meteorological conditions.
